Deconstructing Binaries

June 19, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free, but donations will be accepted

Deconstructing Binaries is a community-based public art project that explores and challenges binary representations of gender identity on public restroom signage.  Following our April 23, 2014, community conversation at Charis Books and More, five local artists—Jerushia Graham, Audre Grieve, Andre Keichian, Fahamu Pecou, Sheila Pree Bright—have created critical works of art in response to the open dialogue.  Their work will be temporarily exhibited at Poem 88 and a panel discussion will accompany the exhibition.

Co-sponsored by Georgia Equality, WonderRoot, Charis Books and More/Charis Circle, TILTT, and JustUsATL
