Steven Igarashi-Ball

A Georgia native, Steven Igarashi-Ball has built his career in service to others. He joined Atlanta Pride's staff in 2021 as the organization's first Director of Equity and Engagement, with over a decade of experience in the public and private sectors. In 2024, he transitioned to the role of Director of Communications and Community Engagement. In this role, he actively works to broaden the community relationships of APC and platform a diversity of voices and perspectives from our community. A committed changemaker, he is passionate about storytelling and community building.
He has worked extensively in HIV/AIDS advocacy and prevention work and currently serves on the Georgia Prevention and Care Council. He serves as the founder and Executive Director for Drag Story Hour Atlanta, which has received international press attention and has been highlighted for its work in creating visibility and representation while promoting creative expression, tolerance, acceptance, and a lifelong passion for literacy. He proudly serves on the Mayor's LGBTQ+ Advisory Board as an advisor to Mayor Andre Dickens on LGBTQ Aging. He is also an active member of the Board of Directors for Out Front Theatre, and the Atlanta Hawks LGBTQ+ Advisory Council, as well. Steven is enthusiastic about visibility and representation.
He makes his home in Lilburn with his husband, Kevin, and their two dogs, Mango and Bailey.
