2025 Theme – Powerful Together: Unafraid and Ready for Change!
The Southern Unity Movement Inc. is proud to announce the 24th annual Bayard Rustin/Audre Lorde Community Breakfast, set to take place on January 20, 2025, at the Loudermilk Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia. This event honors the remarkable legacies of civil rights architect and activist Bayard Rustin and equal rights activist, feminist, warrior, and poet, Audre Lorde.
Founded in January 2002, the Rustin/Lorde Breakfast has become a cornerstone event, offering a unique opportunity for attendees to connect, educate, and support one another before participating in the Martin Luther King, Jr. March. The breakfast aims to:
- Provide a platform for attendees to connect and share experiences.
- Educate communities about the life and contributions of Bayard Rustin, Audre Lorde, and other activists.
- Enhance mutual support and continued learning among participants working for social justice.
