From day one, Atlanta Pride has been led by passionate community members. Our dedicated Board of Directors volunteer their time and talents to guide our organization in meeting our diverse community’s needs. The board constantly evolves to represent that diversity and fully meet those needs. These leaders contribute in four primary categories:
Strategic Direction: The Board of Directors determines Atlanta Pride’s strategic direction, mission, and vision.
Finance: The board is responsible for approving the annual budget to ensure proper financial controls are in place. The board plays a key role in fundraising efforts, ensuring that Atlanta Pride has the resources necessary for day-to-day operations and meeting its goals.
Organizational Oversight: The board reviews Atlanta Pride’s staffing model to ensure it is effective and reflects organizational needs and values. Responsible for hiring, firing, and directing the work of the Executive Director, the board oversees additional staff and all volunteers. The board ensures the staff has the necessary moral and professional support to further the organization’s goals.
Visibility: The board collectively and individually represents Atlanta Pride in our community. The board must clearly articulate Atlanta Pride’s mission, vision, accomplishments, and goals to the public and garner support from the community.
The board ensures organizational legal compliance, ethical integrity, and accountability. The board is responsible for Atlanta Pride’s adherence to legal standards and organizational values.
