Phoenix Brannon

Phoenix has lived in the Metro Atlanta area all of their life, and is a current student of Agnes Scott College set to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in May of 2027. The foundation of their work with Atlanta Pride is rooted in providing accessible, accurate, and informative information about the history and legacy of past Grand Marshals.

They have served on the executive board of Ascend!, one of Agnes Scott’s LGBTQ+ student organizations, since their freshman year. Phoenix even created Ascend’s current logo! They are dedicated to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff at Agnes Scott Campus. Before college, their engagement with the community was limited due to an unwelcoming family environment. Through the support of school friends and two older siblings, they have begun to unlearn the homophobic ideologies taught to them during their earlier years. 

Phoenix looks forward to supporting the broader Atlanta community and working alongside Atlanta Pride as a summer intern. She is excited to collaborate to strengthen the documentation of Atlanta Pride’s history and legacy.
