Atlanta Pride Mobile App — Privacy Policy & Account Deletion
Effective date: 9/9/2026
Last updated: 9/9/2026
This page describes how the Atlanta Pride mobile apps for iOS and Android handle your information, and how to delete your app account and data. It supplements the Atlanta Pride Privacy Policy, which covers our website and our organization more broadly. Where the two differ about the app, this page controls.
The app is published by Atlanta Pride Committee, Inc.
The short version
You can use the entire app without an account and without giving us your name. There is no advertising in the app, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We do not sell your information.
What we collect
Information you choose to give us
Your name and email address, but only if you choose to sign in. Signing in is optional — every feature of the app works without it. On iOS you sign in with Sign in with Apple; on Android you can sign in with Google or with Apple. If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email” option, we never see your real address. Signing in exists so that your saved schedule follows you between devices and so we can reply to feedback.
Feedback you send us. If you use the feedback form, we receive your message, the category you picked, an optional star rating, and which version of the app you’re running (which helps us reproduce bugs).
The form has an anonymous option. If you choose it, your feedback is submitted with no identity attached at all — even if you’re signed in. If you don’t choose it and you are signed in, your name and email come along so we can reply. If you’re not signed in, feedback is always anonymous.
Your saved schedule. The events you save to “My Schedule” are stored so they sync across your devices.
Information collected automatically
Usage data. Which screens you open and which features you use, so we can understand what’s useful and what isn’t. This is collected through Google Firebase Analytics.
Crash and performance data. When the app crashes or runs slowly, we receive a diagnostic report through Google Firebase Crashlytics. These reports describe what the app was doing and what kind of device it was running on.
Device identifiers. An analytics identifier assigned by Firebase, and — if you turn on notifications — a push notification token. These identify your installation of the app, not you personally.
An approximate location derived from your network connection, at roughly the city or region level, as part of standard analytics.
An account identifier, if you sign in — a random ID assigned by Firebase Authentication.
What we do not collect
Your precise location never leaves your device. The app can show your position on the festival map, which requires your device’s GPS. That location is used on your device, in the moment, to draw the blue dot. It is not transmitted to us, not stored, and not shared with anyone. You can decline the location permission and the map still works — you just won’t see yourself on it.
We do not track you across other apps or websites. The app contains no advertising identifiers (no IDFA), no advertising networks, and no third-party tracking SDKs.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. See Children’s privacy below.
Why we collect it
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Name, email | To reply to your feedback, and to identify your account |
| Saved schedule | To sync your schedule across your devices |
| Feedback, rating, app version | To answer your questions and fix bugs |
| Usage data | To understand which features are worth keeping and improving |
| Crash and performance data | To find and fix bugs |
| Device identifier / push token | To deliver notifications you asked for |
| Approximate location | Regional analytics — understanding where attendees come from |
Who we share it with
Google (Firebase). The app runs on Google’s Firebase platform, which provides our database, sign-in, analytics, crash reporting, notifications, and anti-abuse protection. Google processes this data on our behalf as our service provider. Google’s handling is governed by the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.
Apple. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple handles the authentication and tells us only what you agree to share. Push notifications on iOS are delivered through Apple’s servers.
Google (Sign-In). On Android, if you sign in with Google, Google handles the authentication and tells us only your basic profile (name and email) for the account you choose. This is separate from the Firebase services above. Push notifications on Android are delivered through Google’s Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Nobody else. We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties, except where we are legally required to.
Links that leave the app
Some buttons open external websites in your browser — buying premium passes opens Eventbrite, donating opens Givebutter, and various links open atlantapride.org. Once you leave the app, those sites’ own privacy policies apply, not this one. We do not receive your payment or donation details; those transactions happen entirely on those platforms.
How long we keep it
- Account information and saved schedule: until you delete your account.
- Feedback: two years, so we can track issues across festival years.
- Analytics data: 14 months.
- Crash reports: 90 days.
Your choices
Notifications are off until you turn them on, and you can turn them off at any time in the app or in your device settings.
Location is only requested when you first open the map, and you can decline or revoke it in your device settings at any time.
Signing in is optional. If you never sign in, we never have your name or email.
Analytics cannot currently be turned off from within the app — usage and crash reporting are on by default on both platforms. The app collects no advertising identifier and does no cross-app tracking (see What we do not collect). To stop all collection, uninstall the app.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@atlantapride.org. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.
California residents. Atlanta Pride does not currently meet the revenue or data-volume thresholds that would make it subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We nonetheless honor the commitments on this page for everyone: we do not sell your personal information, and you can delete your account and data at any time.
Nevada residents. Nevada’s privacy law (SB-220) permits Nevada residents to request that we not sell their personal information. We do not sell personal information, but you may submit such a request to support@atlantapride.org.
Children’s privacy
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email support@atlantapride.org and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard protections, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data in transit, and app-attestation technology that helps ensure only the genuine Atlanta Pride app can reach our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your Atlanta Pride app account and its associated data at any time. There are two ways to do it.
Do you even have an account?
Most people don’t. The Atlanta Pride app works completely without one — the schedule, map, vendors, and parade route are all available without signing in. You only have an account if you deliberately signed in — with Sign in with Apple (iOS or Android) or with Google (Android) — at some point.
If you never signed in, we hold no account for you and there is nothing to delete.
Option 1 — Delete it in the app
The fastest way, and it takes effect immediately.
On iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Atlanta Pride app
- Go to the My Schedule tab
- Open Profile
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm with Apple when prompted
On Android:
- Open the Atlanta Pride app
- Go to the My Schedule tab
- Tap Delete account
- Confirm in the dialog
You may be asked to sign in one more time before deletion. That’s a security measure to make sure it’s really you, not an extra hoop. For Apple accounts it’s also required by Apple in order to fully revoke the app’s access to your Apple ID.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you’ve uninstalled the app, lost access to your device, or would simply rather not do it yourself, email us.
Send a request to: support@atlantapride.org
Include:
- The email address associated with your account
- A note that you’re requesting deletion of your Atlanta Pride app account
We’ll confirm the request and may ask you to verify your identity before we proceed — this protects you from someone else deleting your account.
We’ll complete your request within 30 days and email you when it’s done.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your account record and its identifier
- Your name and email address, if you shared them
- Your saved schedule and all saved events
- Your name and email attached to any feedback you submitted
This is permanent. Your saved schedule cannot be recovered afterward, so if you’d like a copy, note it down before deleting.
What is kept, and why
Being straight with you about the exceptions:
Feedback content, with your identity stripped. If you sent us feedback, the message and rating remain, but your name, email, and account ID are removed from it. We keep the anonymized text because it’s often about a bug or a suggestion that’s still worth acting on. It can no longer be connected back to you.
Anonymous usage and crash statistics. Analytics and crash reports were never linked to your name in the first place, and they’re aggregated with everyone else’s. These age out on their own schedule (see How long we keep it) and can’t be traced back to an individual account.
Anything we’re legally required to retain, for as long as the law requires.
Deleting the app isn’t the same as deleting your account
Uninstalling removes the app from your device, but if you created an account it stays on our servers until you delete it using one of the options above.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
