Atlanta Pride Prepares for Potential Severe Weather Ahead of 57th Annual Festival and Parade

ATLANTA (OCTOBER 8, 2026) — As Atlanta prepares to celebrate the 57th Annual Atlanta Pride Festival and Parade this weekend, October 10–11, Atlanta Pride is closely monitoring the potential for severe weather associated with Hurricane Isaias and encouraging attendees to plan ahead.

According to the National Weather Service forecast as of Thursday, October 8, the Atlanta area could experience heavy rainfall, strong winds, thunderstorms and the potential for isolated tornadoes beginning late Friday night and continuing into early Sunday morning. Saturday is currently expected to see the greatest impacts, with rainfall totals of 2 to 2.5 inches and wind gusts potentially reaching 35 to 40 mph or higher. Conditions are expected to improve Sunday morning, though lingering showers and breezy winds remain possible.

The Atlanta Pride Festival and Parade are rain-or-shine events and remain scheduled to take place as planned. However, severe weather conditions may result in temporary delays to programming or other adjustments to festival operations to ensure the safety of attendees, participants, performers and staff.

Due to the potential for high winds, personal tents will not be allowed in the Meadow at Piedmont Park on Saturday, October 10. This precaution is being implemented to reduce the risk of unsecured tents becoming airborne and posing a safety hazard to festival attendees. Atlanta Pride encourages all attendees to plan accordingly and follow instructions from event staff and public safety personnel.

Atlanta Pride remains in regular communication with the National Weather Service and is working closely with public safety partners at the City of Atlanta to assess conditions and make operational decisions in real time.

Attendees are encouraged to prepare for wet conditions by bringing rain gear, wearing appropriate footwear and allowing additional travel time. In the event of severe weather, attendees should follow all instructions from Atlanta Pride staff and emergency personnel.

Atlanta Pride will continue providing updates throughout the week and festival weekend through its official communication channels. Attendees are strongly encouraged to download the Atlanta Pride Festival mobile app, enable notifications and follow Atlanta Pride on Instagram (@atlantapride) and Facebook for the latest information regarding festival operations, performances, community marches and the Parade.

The 57th Annual Atlanta Pride Festival and Parade will take place October 10–11 in Piedmont Park, bringing the LGBTQ+ community and allies together for a weekend of celebration under this year’s theme, “Louder & Prouder.”
