Grand Marshals

Grand Marshall Rep. John Lewis

Ready to nominate the next Grand Marshal for the Atlanta Pride Parade?

Since 1992, we’ve been celebrating the s/heroes who make a difference in Atlanta’s LGBTQ+ community, and now it’s your turn to help us recognize the best of the best!

Nominate your favorite LGBTQ+ leaders, individuals, or organizations who have made a positive impact in Georgia’s LGBTQ+ scene—whether they’re working at a local, national, or even international level. This is your chance to spotlight those who inspire change and make a real difference. Nominees of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions are welcome, and Grand Marshals get to lead one of the most fabulous parades in the country!

Here are a few things to keep in mind before you submit your nominations:

  • You can nominate as many people as you want, but each submission needs its own form. Only one group or individual per form, please.
  • Nominations are based on the nominee’s contributions, not the number of forms submitted. Quality over quantity!
  • Make sure your nominees are aware they’re being nominated, and provide as much contact info as possible. We can’t choose a Grand Marshal if we can’t get in touch with them!
  • Political candidates are not eligible, so let’s keep it about the community, not campaigns.
  • Being a Grand Marshal is a prestigious honor, so we’re looking for folks who are passionate about advancing LGBTQ+ rights, especially within Georgia. Although the Atlanta Pride Committee doesn’t pay appearance fees, serving as Grand Marshal is a fantastic opportunity to be part of something amazing.
